SOAP for Emergency Medicine, SOAP for Obstetrics and Gynecology, and SOAP for Pediatrics, comprises three more titles in the SOAP series. Previous titles include: SOAP for family medicine, internal medicine, urology, and for neurology. The series editor, Uzelac, is a physician and assistant professor. Authors of the individual titles are physicians with specialties in the subject of the book.SOAP is an acronym for subjective data, objective data, assessment, plan. SOAP is the method used for organizing progress notes in Problem-Oriented Record keeping. The editor designed the series as a pocket manual for medical students and house staff. The user-friendly format provides quick access to practical clinical information.Each of the titles begins with a list of pertinent abbreviations and normal laboratory values. The following chapters are divided into sub-sections that confine each subject to two pages. Topics have been limited to those problems most commonly encountered in daily practice and highlighting the most important points.
